| Notes: | Drawing within ink frame 15.9 x 24.3 cm. Engraving based on this drawing found in Vol. I of Francis Grose's Antiquities of Ireland (London, 1791) as Pl. 27. The original sketch would have been done on July 29th, 1779, when Bigari was on a tour of Connacht with his artist friend, Gabriel Beranger (ca. 1730-1817), who made a note of this visit in his catalogue notes (see NLI Ms 4162, page 24). From: Antiquities of Abbeys, Castles, & Towers in Ireland / assembled by Austin Cooper in 1875 (page 22). Image pasted onto sheet. Inscribed in ink u.c. on sheet: Founded aD 1241 by Dr. Bir[s?]mingham. Inscribed in ink u.r. is the number 44 which correspond to the number given in the catalogue notes of the trip to Connacht by Gabriel Beranger. Title inscribed in ink l.c. Physical description: 1 drawing : image 15.7 x 24 cm., on paper 18.7 x 26 cm., mounted on sheet 23.2 x 29.1 cm.
