Toller-able Horsemen!!
[graphic]
Summary: | Title etched l.c. Two men seated on horseback, facing left. Seated on the dark horse to the left is John Toler, First Earl of Norbury (1745-1831), who was Chief Justice of the Common Pleas in Ireland from 1800 to 1827. According to Patricia Butler, [August 1997], this caricature [on stylistic grounds, subject matter and technique] is probably the work of members of the Brocas family, the most likely being William Brocas, R.H.A. (ca. 1794-1868). |
