The originals by Gabriel Beranger apparently do not survive, making these drawings the only visual evidence we have of Beranger's activity at Ballysadare during his tour of Connacht in the summer of 1779. See NLI Ms 4162, page 9, for Beranger's comments on both the abbey and church at Ballysadare. The J.S. Cooper, who signed his name to the drawing, may be Jonathon Sisson Cooper (ca.1777-1850), a nephew of Austin Cooper
