Notes: | From: Antiquities of Abbeys, Castles & c. & c. in Ireland, Vol. II This drawing is a copy of an original by Angelo Maria Bigari which is preserved in the Austin Cooper Collection as 2122 TX (3) 9. It is not known who the artist Sarah Cooper was. Austin Cooper's daughter of that name was not born till 1799, so it may be his wife Sarah, whom he had married in 1786. Her maiden name was Turner, and it may be that the artist and Joseph Turner (who did several of the drawings in the collection) may have been related. This could explain how the style of this drawing is so similar to Joseph Turner's work. Bigari's original may have been in the possession of William Conyngham of Slane Castle at the time this drawing was executed Title inscribed in ink l.c. on sheet under image Watermark u.l. on sheet consists of letters which are not visible enough to make anything out of them Physical description: 1 drawing image 16 x 24.3 cm., on sheet 18.3 x 26.7 cm.
