Summary: | View of the Cistercian Abbey at Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland, founded in the late 12th century and completed probably around 1220. The view is taken from the south-west, and shows the west doorway with window above on the left. The tower at the centre rises above a thatched roof of a single-storey house forming one side of the cloister in the foreground. On the far right of the building is a turret with chimney (ca. 1600) |
