On the page opposite (verso of 2122 TX (1) 15), inscribed in pencil probably by Austin Damer Cooper (1831-1900) are the words: The Towerof Cashel is built of [Drum?] grit stone, which must have been brought a distance of six or seven miles

Image in oval frame 12.6 x 10.7 cm. Watermark is part of a large shield, crowned, on u.l. sheet

Drawn by Austin Cooper perhaps when he was touring the country gathering money from area tax collectors, or a Paymaster to the Civil and Military Establishments. Cooper drew the castle on an extensive tour of Munster during the summer of 1781
