C.W. Cole spent time in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. He was working as a special artist for the Graphic, reporting on the events relating to the Irish Land League in the west of Ireland in 1880. This image shows the cavalry leaving Boycott's estate. It could be the last day of the Boycott Relief Expedition which ended on 26th November 1880
