Summary: | C.W. Cole spent time in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. He was working as a special artist for the Graphic, reporting on the events relating to the Irish Land League in the west of Ireland in 1880. He covered the Boycott Relief Expedition (12th - 26th November 1880). When his crops were saved, Captain Boycott, with his wife and nephew, left Mayo with the expedition on 27th of November 1880. In this image his carriage is being escorted by a cavalry through Claremorris, County Mayo |
