The memorable Battle of Arklow, fought on the 9th of June 1798, between the King's Troops commanded by the Honorable Major General Needham consisting of 300 horse and 1500 foot, and the Rebel Army consisting of 30,000 men, which ended in the defeat of the latter with a loss of 1200 men
