Summary:	In 1806 John Philpot Curran was appointed Master of the Rolls in Ireland. This satirical portrait of him on horseback depicts him wearing a riding-dress and holding a riding-switch. His saddle-bags contain rolled documents that are inscribed respectively - 'Decree', 'Reports', 'Petitions', 'Interrogator[ies]', 'Affidavits', 'Bills', 'Brief [bis]', 'Answer'. This print published by Sidebotham was pirated by McCleary, No. 32, Nassau Street, Dublin in 1809.
