Notice August 13 1847. The Relief Commissioners have notified to the Government Inspector that they expect a reduction to be made in the Relief Lists of at least 20 per cent each week of the ensuing fortnight; and that they will lower the estimates now to be sent up to equal this amount, and withhold the money...
By order of the Relief Commissioners, C. G. Macgregor Skinner, Government Inspector.
Text continues: Committees are therefore imperatively called on, to make arrangements for these reductions, retaining only on their lists the helpless, totally destitute, and weakly from illness, as any extra expenditure above the funds furnished will be chargeable to the members of committees in equal proportions to each".
