Scoil Eanna (St. Enda's school) was the first bi-lingual school to have been established in Ireland (1908). Following its relocation to the Hermitage, Rathfarnham, in 1910 it began to experience financial difficulties. In an effort to resolve the problem a limited company was formed in 1912. However, the school continued to endure financial hardship until its eventual closure in 1935
