In Collection: Letters to and from Eoin O'Duffy regarding the bank boycott Septmber 1920.
Description:'I enclose letter received from Mr. Murray former manager, Northern Bank ... There is a good deal in what he says. The Bank of Ireland is without doubt the most shoneen & anti-Irish bank in the country ... About 8 years ago I approached the Hibernian Bank on behalf of several Irish Ireland organisations ... to accept cheques signed in Irish. They refused ... I then went to the Northern and their reply was 'certainly with pleasure' ... I do not write this for the purpose of trying to relieve pressure on the Northern for I believe the boycott of Belfast ... should continue ... PS the missing letter referred to by Mr Murray is a packet containing £500 in notes ... He put the matter in the hands of H.Q., IRA through me.'
