Letter from Lady Louisa Conolly in Castletown, Co. Kildare to the then serving Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Lord Cornwallis [Charles, 1st Marquess and 2nd Earl Cornwallis (1738-1805)] in Dublin Castle. Lady Conolly wishes to thank the Lord Lieutenant in person - ‘I have not the courage to name Castletown, the house at present being little better than a garrison and an hospital…'.
