Notes:Henry John Hadden was a naval surgeon who joined the Royal Navy in 1885, attaining the rank of Surgeon-Captain in 1919. Qualifying in Dublin, the son of Dr. Henry Richards Hadden, Henry J.Hadden served 22 years in the Royal Navy, serving onboard H.M.S Dolphin, H.M.S Rapid, H.M.S. Thunderer, H.M.S Cruiser, H.M.S Empress of India, and H.M.S London. He also served as surgeon of the Royal Naval Hospital at Bermuda. While surgeon of the Dolphin he was engaged in the operations at Tokar, Eastern Sudan and in 1891 was awarded the Khedive's Bronze Star. Retiring in 1906 to practice as a doctor in West-Moors, Dorset, he came out of retirement at the beginning of the First World War and served on H.M.S. Victorian in the Atlantic before transferring to the R.N. Air Service as Naval Doctor and then the R.A.F. at Blandford, holding the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.
