Armorial bookplate of E. P. John Westby on front pastedown. Coloured cartouches to each map, each title signed by Henry Hewett. Listed within a decorative border are the holdings with descriptions and acreages. Bound in recent full calf, with the original leather mounted on upper cover, and with traces of tooled title. NLI stamp on front endpaper with accompanying letter (MS 50,697) from Michael Hewson, Director, National Library of Ireland, to Christies, explaining the stamp.

Pasted to verso of Ennis map (No. 36) is a letter from Hewett to William Wesby dated at Snugborough, 1738, with an additional map of Cour (No. 18) with modificiations. Some maps have pencilled additions, presumably in the hand of one of the Westby family, other maps show only an occasional stylized house, church or castle.
