Collection consists of two daguerreotypes portraying John Dominick Maguire and his spouse Ellen Maguire; hand-painted lantern slides mounted on wood panel depicting various subjects (life of Christ: Mary at sepulchre; butterfly wings; the queen of Sheba visiting Solomon; the good Samaritan; a ship at sea struck by lightning; a working kaleidoscope with handle) and calotypes of unidentified landscapes. It also includes the following pieces of photographic apparatus: Watkins Exposure Meter, Watkins Bee Exposure Meter in original box with instructions booklet, Watkins time thermometer for measuring developing time.
