Letters and papers of the I.R.A. Old Comrades' Association,
[ca.1934-1953].
The collection comprises mainly correspondence to and from the National Executive of the I.R.A. Old Comrades' Association, which had its headquarters in Tipperary town. There is discussion in the letters about the provisions of the Military Service Pensions Act of 1934; the Association offers assistance and advice in making applications for those who served during the Rebellion and War of Independence, some of whom might have emigrated and not be aware of their entitlement to a pension. There is also discussion about local I.R.A. associations affiliating with the Tipperary one, and requests for funds. Included in this collection of correspondence are some testimonials regarding military service, a photograph of Con Moloney and some identity cards.
