Notes:Contains correspondence from McCabe's friends, from former students of the Irish College, individuals who travelled to Salamanca to learn English and academics and journalists who used the archives of the College. Among the correspondents are the Trocóniz family, owners of the Gran Hotel in Salamanca; Monica Henchy (née Leahy), TCD librarian and wife of the NLI Director (1967-76), Dr Pat Henchy; and Victoriano and Margarita Sanmartin, who were caretakers of a villa owned by the Irish College and whose son Domingo was shot by the military. Also includes correspondence relating to student misconduct and letters concerning the reopening of the Irish College in 1941.
