| Description: | Casement writes that the claims that Gaffney hosted a dinner with anti-British speeches in honour of Casement are a lie. He describes efforts by other American diplomats to make his acquaintance and claims that he turned this down as his misson in Germany was only to help the cause of Ireland and not to seek American help in this. He claims that Gaffney is being dismissed simply for refusing to be a British agent and for showing respect to fellow Irishmen. |
