Letter from Roger Casement to Alice Stopford Green regarding the cancellation of the public greeting of the steamer 'Rhaetia' in Cobh,
1914 Jan. 13.
Casement addresses Green as "My dear Woman of the Murdered Speech". The Hamburg-America Line which owns the 'Rhaetia' has requested no "welcome" or public reception of any kind. Casement asks that Green not mention his giving up on the ship as he is overwhelmed and wants it to pass off quietly. He is still making arrangements for F.J. Bigger's donation.
