Letter from Cornelius Lehane to James Connolly regarding the waning support of socialism in Cork and Dublin; the suspension of the 'Workers' Republic'; describing the lecture tour of J. Bruce Glasier of the British Fabian Society; and the socialism in the United States,
1900 March 6.
Lehane writes "I have not lost hope - On the contrary I feel myself being grounded more and more on the basic principles of socialism and I am confident that in a short time we will have another branch in Cork, built on a more stable foundation than the first.". Lehane describes William J. Gallagher as an "academic reformer" and writes "I don't think he will be of any use to us".
