Cremins writes of Tom's life "I always knew that Tom was a bit of a rolling stone, but I never realised that he had the 'Wanderlust' in such extreme form. Life for him was certainly hectic and no doubt the 'high' spots more than compensated for the many moments of 'down and outness' that he must have had.".
