Autograph letter, signed, from Sean O'Casey to Mai McCarthy,
1955 Oct. 8.
O'Casey writes to say that he hasn't time to write more fully as he is very busy. He is working on an introduction and chapter to a book, and articles for the publisher George Braziller. He refers also to meetings with Columbia Recordings about a recording of 'Juno and the Paycock' by Cyril Cusack Productions, with Siobhán McKenna as Juno. In addition, a camera crew are coming from NBC to make a half-hour programme about O'Casey and his family. He makes a brief mention about the Irish state taking over Clonmacnoise and is glad to see that at last the Irish are 'taking some thought for our venerable past'.
