1921 January 3.

Patrick Moran was imprisoned in Kilmainham Gaol after he was mistakenly identified as one of the men who shot Lieutenant Ames at 38 Upper Mount Street, Dublin, on 21st November 1920. He was taken to Dublin Castle on 7th January 1921 and charged with the murder of Ames and Bennett at 38 Upper Mount Street. Mary Farrell is a friend of Patrick Moran from Dun Laoghaire. The Farrell family had a dairy where Patrick Moran used to work before he was arrested. One of the Farrell girls, Bea (B) was his girlfriend.
