Includes letters from Francis Hardy concerning his work on the life of James Caulfield, earl of Charlemont, from the Rev. Archibald Alison of Rocksoles House, Lanarkshire, from writer Mrs. Beatrice Grant, from Lady Sydney Morgan, concerning her novel 'O'Donnell', and his correspondence with the children's writer Barbara Hofland, concerning his proofing her stories prior to their publication. Hofland in one her letters to Edgeworth praises the Edgeworth's 'Practical Education' and Maria Edgeworth's 'comic dramas'.
