Typescript letters and postcard to Ria Mooney from George Shiels (playwright) in which he discusses his dramatic works including 'The Rugged Path' at the Abbey Theatre in which Mooney played the part of Sara Tansey; the touring production of 'The Fort Field' in which Mooney played the part of Mrs. Caven; and 'The New Gossoon' at the Abbey Theatre in 1945. Shiels also discusses the direction and character development in his play 'The Caretakers' and explains the Scottish colloquialisms used in the script.
