Asquith was Russell's assistant throughout the 'Times' hearings. He writes "As you will learn from Parnell's letter, it was determined at a meeting of the Irish party today that all the members should cease to be represented. Mr Harris & O'Kelly are here & ready to be called. We have arranged to meet at your chambers tomorrow morning at 10".
