Letter from Jean de Lestre to unidentified female recipient, describing his pilgrimage to Eugène Lemercier's final resting place,
1921 August 14.
Author wrote to a "mademoiselle", probably a friend or lover of Eugène Lemercier's, with instruction to give his letter to Marguerite Lemercier. Jean de Lestre is a poet and author and, based on the content, it is likely that he was a soldier who was at Les Eparges with Eugène. Describes how he took a bit of the yellow earth for the mother, put a bit of his own fragrance in the earth together with the rose water of the recipient.
