Letter from Eugène Lemercier to his mother, Marguerite Lemercier, expressing his deep feelings towards her,

1914 September 26.

Informs recipient of the way the war has changed how he relates to her. In his opinion the war has removed all the "remparts" he had built to protect his sensibility, which he got from his mother, and now says : "je me retrouve ton fils". Their relationship from this point, he thinks, will therefore be a more open, and closer one; they are united in thought at all times and express their (similar)thoughts the same way, withouth restraint.
