Informs Colonel Henry Jamieson Davis that they "much regret that as our entire stock of rifles has long since been disposed of, and as at present our total output is taken by the British War Office, we are quite unable to quote you for supplies. We are not makers of ammunition and fear that the same position obtains with all the ammunition manufacturers."
