Contains the correspondence of John Pitt Kennedy and William Doherty of Cloghan, reporting on crops, livestock and other farm issues, conditions for tenants due to weather and the Famine, poor relief committees and financial issues including rent collection. Also contains correspondence between Kennedy and Patrick Doherty of Cloghan, mainly concerning an attack against Doherty (later revealed to be instigated by Ribbonmen) and charges made against him for allegedly threatening to shoot Sir Charles Style. Also contains correspondence between Kennedy and James W. Doherty of Cloghan, as well as some related letters from Patrick Doherty to Mrs. Kennedy.
