1836-1865.
Charles Style was landlord of the estate at Cloghan/Glenfin, Co. Donegal, some parts of which were managed by John Pitt Kennedy. The correspondence mainly concerns affairs of the estate, including management, finance and conditions for tenants. Reference is also made to land reform and the Land Commission, poor law, famine relief, public works, the agricultural school at Cloghan and an act of violence against tenant Patrick Doherty. The correspondence also concerns personal and family matters, including the health of Charles' son (also named Charles Style). A letter from William Style, brother of Charles, is included; also letters of another Sir Charles (possibly Charles Montague Style, son of William Style) to John Pitt.
