This series contains the files relating to the internal elections for Labour Party Leader and Deputy Leader in 2002 and 2007. 2002 was the first year the entire membership of the Party were entitled to vote for the two positions but the principle had been enshrined in the 1999 constition which had emerged after the merger of the Labour Party and Democratic Left.
