Contains the estate and family papers of the Leslie family of Co. Monaghan, dated 1528-1992. Estate papers includes deeds, leases, rentals, legal papers, estate correspondence, documents from the Land Commission and from the Sir John Leslie Estates Company, maps and plans, financial papers, and miscellaneous documents relating to the Leslie estates of Glaslough, Pettigo and others. The Leslie family papers include correspondence, diaries and journals, writings, photographs, scrapbooks, sketchbooks, gamebooks, ephemera, legal and political papers, and miscellaneous material kept by the Leslie family.

Description:Contains estate correspondence of James Nixon, agent of the Leslie's Cordoo (Corduff) Estate, Co. Monaghan and Pettigo Estate, Co. Donegal, dated 1815-1835. Nixon also served in the Monaghan Militia alongside Colonel Charles Powell Leslie II and was appointed paymaster of the militia from 1798. Correspondence is largely between Nixon and Charles Powell Leslie and concerns topics including leases, tenants and rent, legal and financial affairs, land purchase opportunities and estate maintenance.
