Notes:The composition, powers and title of the Executive Board have varied over time. From 1912-1993 the body was referred to as the Administrative Council (AC). This body was composed of thirty members, twenty elected by Party conference, six members of the PLP (two prior to October 1962) and the Party officers. The Administrative Council also had responsibility for policy development and fraternal relations. In April 1993 the Administrative Council was split into the Executive Committee (EC) and the General Council (GC). The Executive Committee retained the functions of the current Executive Board, while the General Council was assigned the Administrative Council's functions regarding policy and fraternal relations. In 2003 the Administrative Council was restored under the name of the National Executive Committee (NEC). The NEC was composed of fifteen members elected by conference, the Party Officers, two members of the PLP, and six members representing the Party sections. In 2009 the National Executive Committee was split into the Executive Board (EB) and Central Council (CC) replicating the division of responsibilities of the Executive Committee and General Council.
