Photographs include the daily life of the family of Dillon, Barons of Clonbrock, on their estate in Ahascragh, Co. Galway including of family members, staff, neighbours and friends. There are also views of other estates and locals and various family-related images.

Photographs were taken by members of the Dillon family, Barons Clonbrock, of Ahascragh, Co. Galway, especially Luke Gerald Dillon, Fouth Lord Clonbrock, and his wife Augusta Crofton Dillon (of Moate Park, Co. Roscommon). The couple had a studio and darkroom on the grounds and was referred to as the 'photo house'. Clonbrock House was destroyed by fire in the early 1990s but the photo house survived.

Finding Aids: Card index of 350 glass negatives is available in the NPA reading room, as is a catalogue 'Heirs and Graces' which was an exhibition of some of these Clonbrock images from the 1860s.
