Cardall Photographic Collection, PC

[graphic]

The Cardall collection is comprised of b&w postcards and their corresponding negatives of towns, cities and villages in the Republic of Ireland. Approximately 400 towns are featured, the number of views per town varies considerably. Images depict the major landmarks in each town - castles, churches, scenic landscapes, street scenes, people, automobiles, advertising signs and shop fronts. The majority of postcards also contain a caption, identifying the images' location and major points of interest. This collection provides a good follow-up to the earlier postcard collections of Eason and Valentine.
