Album of Diarmuid MacManus, containing newspaper cuttings and postcards relating to Irish nationalist politics between 1914 to 1916, with particular reference to the formation of the Irish Volunteers, the Howth Gun Running and the 1916 Rising. Includes postcards of Thomas MacDonagh, Edward Daly, Séan Heuston, Patrick Pearse, The O'Rahilly, Sean McDermott, Con Colbert, Thomas Ashe, Finian Lynch, Michael Mallin, Joseph Plunkett, James O'Sullivan, and scenes of Dublin in ruins following bombardment. Also included are letters to Miss L. MacManus, of Killeaden, Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo, from Agnes MacNeill, concerning her husband John MacNeill's conviction (1916) and from I. Corcoran, written from Frongoch Camp, dated 17 July 1916, and The O'Rahilly's pamphlet The secret history of the Irish Volunteers.
