In Collection: Conolly-Napier papers, 1783-1840.
Description:Emily writes of her annoyance with the high regard her brothers Charles and William have for Napoleon; she jokes that she fears she might become ‘a regular Tory’ and go so far as to oppose Catholic emancipation. She asks Anne’s view of the ‘giving up the abolition of the slave trade and the blockade of Norway’. She remarks she is pleased with the Articles of Peace and unhappy with the new French constitution. She says Is not sure how best to decide about her immediate future. She refers to the promotion of her brother Henry.
