Notes:Henry Dixon was born in 1859. He was a nationalist and a solicitor’s clerk. He was member of several nineteenth century nationalist societies including the Dublin branch of the Young Ireland Society, the Parnell Leadership Committee, Young Ireland League, the Celtic Literary Society, and the ’98 Centenary Committee. He was also a founding member of Sinn Féin and a director of the Sinn Féin Printing and Publishing Company. He was an early contributor to ‘The United Irishman’. He was arrested in the aftermath of the Easter Rising and interned at Frongoch and then transferred to Reading. He was released in December 1916. His daughter Bríd Dixon was in the GPO during the Easter Rising but escaped arrest. During the War of Independence Henry Dixon was arrested again and interned at Ballykinlar. He died on 4th December 1928. A biography of Dixon published in Beathaisnéis a ceathair le Duiarmuid Breathnach agus Máire Ní Mhurchú. Baile Átha Cliath, 1994.
