The Poole Photographic Collection, PC
The majority of the collection consists of portraits of Waterford people. This would include studio portraits of local individuals, group portraits of business firms, school classes, clubs and societies. Other subjects include images of Waterford life and development: Turkeys being brought to market, The Quay; Reginald's Tower and the Quay; Granville Hotel, Meagher's Quay; Fife and Drum Band; Torpedo boats at the Quay; coal at docks, Mr. Murphy's, Ferrybank; Motor cars in Manor Street; Tramore Strand and many more. In addition to Waterford city and county, other areas covered include Wexford, Kilkenny and Cork. Also includes some postcard views such as individualised postcards for local business firms and other institutions.

Poole Cabinet is covered by two main indexes dating 1884-1899 and 1899-1946. These indexes provide client names and subjects in rough alphabetical order and negative number. Date spans are denoted by these prefixes--X (1900-ca. 1906), O (ca. 1906-1912), D (ca. 1912-1922), K (1922-1936), and R (ca. 1937-1946). Two further indexes cover the Poole Whole Plates and Poole Imperial material, dating 1901-1943. These indexes provide a chronological/numerical listing of plates, including subject and original negative number. The original Books are located on shelf 1401.

On shelf 0916 among the Poole Prints we find 5 lantern slides, 2 plastic negatives, a postcard and a small amount of Lawrence prints.
NITRATE: on shelf 0666 there is one plastic negative presumably Poole and it is a possible nitrate.
NITRATE: on shelf 1100 there 5 boxes of which 2 contain unsorted miscellaneous Poole glass negatives (30 items) and 3 contain unsorted miscellaneous presumably Poole glass and plastic negatives (20 glass negatives of which 10 are damaged and 15 plastic negatives which are possible nitrates).
