William the Fourth, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, &c., &c. to the people of Dublin, greeting. Whereas, we lately issued certain bills, enacting all manner of folks found in this city, and desiring them to be safely kept, so that we may have their bodies before us at the Theatre Royal Abbey-street on a certain night to attend the Benefit of Mr. Rodgers, on Tuesday, December 3rd, [1833] next ensuing, on an occasion of great good fun; and it being sufficiently attested to us that many more are running up and down, and playing at hide and seek in this city, we therefore command you and every one of you, to catch as many natives as may be found, so that you may have their bodies before us, so that they may attend with monies of the lawful coin of these Kingdoms in their breeches pockets, or tickets in their hands, and be safely placed in such box, pit, or gallery, as may suit the case, and hereof fail not at your peril. Doldrum and Logic. You are served with this to the intent that you may appear by yourself or by your attorney - or with as many more as you can prevail on to become ticket porters, and remain stationary till all matters to be sung, said, danced, fiddled, whistled, tumbled, jumped, or otherwise performed, be fully done, and completed. Given at our ticket office, where 2s. 1s or a 6d. will enable you to have your ears bored for a whole evening. No charge for going home before half-price time.
