John Michael Farren
(born November 21, 1952) is a former American lawyer who served as Deputy
White House Counsel
in the Office of Counsel to the President under the 43rd
President of the United States
George W. Bush
from 2007 to 2009. Farren also served as
Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade
at the
United States Department of Commerce
and head of the
International Trade Administration
under the 41st President of the United States
George H. W. Bush
from 1989 to 1992. He is currently serving a 15-year jail sentence for the attempted murder of his then-wife.
