Dublin Castle, May 30, 1851. Whereas it has been represented to the Lord Lieutenant, that at the hour of three o'clock, a.m., on the 29th instant, James Care was dangerously wounded by one of a party of six men, who attacked the House of Thomas Hussy, situated in the townland of Ballinaferagh, barony of Rathconrath, and County of Westmeath, whose sons, Christopher and Patrick Hussy were also severely beaten by the said Party:
His Excellency for the better apprehending and bringing to justice the perpetrators of this outrage, is pleased hereby to offer a reward of one hundred pounds to any person or persons, who shall within six months from the date thereof, give such information as shall lead to the arrest of the persons who committed the same. By His Excellency's Command, T.N. Redington. The above reward will be paid, on conviction, by C.P. Wallace, Esq., the Resident Magistrate at Mullingar, to those who may become entitled to it under the conditions of this Proclamation.
